Spoken Word Poetry & Video Wednesday

I know I’ve been totally slacking off in the blogging department. Part of the reason is that with the kids home all summer, whatever bit of free time I have is crammed into getting my book writing done. The other part is that since I’ve been so focused on my next book, I haven’t thought about what to include on my blog.

So, to get back into the swing of things, I’ve decided to do Video Wednesdays. I know a lot of people do videos on Fridays because it’s the end of the week and our brains are fried anyway, but I think we really need that break on Wednesday. It’s called hump day for a reason. 

For my video this week, I want to introduce you to Sarah Kay. I’m not sure when I first saw her perform her poetry online. It might’ve been a TED talk. Sarah is a spoken word poet, which means just what it sounds like. She writes her poetry to be spoken aloud and performed. She has SO many excellent pieces, don’t be surprised if she’s a regular on Wednesdays.

Video Wednesday, however, is not a very catchy title, so I am open to suggestions as to what to call these posts. Let me know in the comments.
