8 Sentence Sunday #31

From Something to Prove, Elizabeth’s assistant has just called with bad news about the bar. She hasn’t found out much information, but what she did find was that the bar belongs to Elizabeth’s brother, Keith, which means a whole new set of complications.

The keys bobbled in the air and she missed them. They hit the floor with a clunk, as did her heart. “It’s Keith’s?”

“It’s in your dad’s name. You were right about that, but Claire is sure that he bought it after Keith brought it to him and convinced him to buy it.”

                    “Okay, thanks.”

“Do you want me to book your flight home?”
