8 Sentence Sunday #12

Posted Apr 21 2013, 7:30 am in , , , ,

I’m picking up right where I left off last week in A Good Time. Griffin is mad and wants to know why Indy snuck out of his house.

“I want to know why you left.”

She didn’t know how to answer. I don’t belong in your world? He wouldn’t buy it, even though it rang true. She took a deep breath, stared at the floor, and lied. “I can’t sleep in a strange place.”

She’d felt too comfortable in his bed and knew it was a bad thing. Sex was sex, but sleeping together changed things.

Hm…she is thinking what the man in the story usually thinks! Indy is such an interesting character – she isn’t dumb, but some of the things she does makes you (well, me) want to slam the book against the wall 😉

  6. It is interesting, the changes in a relationship when the status quo changes. And even the most subtle things can change it. Example–in Pretty Woman–how the kiss changed things.
